The Story of Black Moor

Born in the Fall of 2005, Black Moor is a metal band hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Composed of Eric Hanlin on guitar and lead vocals, Nick Jones on lead guitar, Sylvain Coderre on drums and Rob Nickerson on bass, the band has gradually evolved into something bordering on obsession for four like-minded musicians. Drawing inspiration from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, 80’s thrash and some progressive rock, Black Moor plays melody driven metal with a combination of wailing twin lead guitars and neck snapping riffage.

A near-fatal car accident in June of 2008 nearly cut the band’s career short, and the subsequent turmoil caused disruptions through the end of 2008 and into the early parts of 2009. Doubts about the future prevailed during this time, but Summer 2009 sees Black Moor now stronger than ever and set for big things in the coming year. Partnering with Halifax-based Diminished Fifth Records, the band is now prepared to release its long delayed debut album, The Conquering.
